September 18th, 2016 Swap Meet

09-16-001

General Meet Information
There is no charge for admission!  Seller’s fees are waived at this meet.  That’s right, buying and selling is completely FREE!  Please bring your own tables.

Doors open at 7:00 AM. The flea market starts at 8:00 AM, announcements are held at 10:30 AM followed by the donation auction and free pizza during meetings at The Terminal (usually around 11:00). Each meet will vary slightly, so check out the monthly flyer for more information!

As typical of most swap meets, the items are for sale by individual collectors, and most are one-of-a-kind. So for best selection (and the best deals), BE EARLY! But please stay around and get to meet some of the club members. These swap meets are a great way to connect with other local collectors that share your interests. By socializing at the meets you can find others that may have what you are looking for, radios & parts, people that can service your radios, and you can make some good friends.

Parking Map:
Please park on the West side of the lot, near the Terminal building.  The parking lot area near the Landmark 1850 Inn is reserved for vendor spaces.

  1. I have around 40 fully restored pre-WWII radios that have filled my basement. My wife says its time to start finding a home for them. My thought was to bring some of the table models to the Sept 18 meet and offer them for sale. I would also bring good photos and information on all the radios in my collection for anyone interested. Does this make sense?
Are attendees mostly interested in rare antiques or is there an interest in beautiful working radios?

    Thanks for your advice,

    Barry Sammons

    • Hi Barry!

Thanks for reaching out to the club. Our September meet is usually one of our best, so I’d say you picked a great time to bring radios to sell! Our buyers and sellers are mostly radio collectors, and that is what dominates the meet. You will also see vintage audio amps, the occasional television, record player, vintage fan, or clock… but again, mostly radios! The best selling hours are before 9AM, so I advise arriving earlier if you can. Let me know if you have any other questions!
